Opening ceremony, lighting ceremony, Japanese musical instrument performance, Asakusa geisha dancing, kiyari, ladder climbing, matoi dance, performances by celebrities and entertainers, and children's Japanese drumming.

The lantern-lit ukiyo-e prints are entertainingly explained by Makino Kentaro, the Japanese director of the "Ukiyo-e Digitization Project," a joint project between the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and NHK. He is also an "ukiyo-e evangelist" who introduces the lives of ordinary people in Edo and ways of life that are relevant to the present day. Because the prints have been digitally captured, visitors can enlarge them to discover astonishing facts, and become engrossed in the Edo spirit and atmosphere.
